The MI is an international public Association of the faithful, erected by the Holy See. There are over 122,000 Knights in 66 countries, including North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Oceania. The MI was founded by St. Maximilian Kolbe, OFMConv., in 1917, open to Catholics, of all walks of life, and encourages all people of good will to develop a trusting relationship with Our Blessed Mother Mary. The aim of the MI is to win the whole world for Christ through the Immaculata, Mother of God and the Church.

“The MI is a global vision of Catholic life, consisting in the bond with the Immaculata, our universal Mediatrix before Jesus.” ( KW 1220)

The MI is committed to providing its members with Catholic formation in the spirituality and mission of St. Maximilian Kolbe. Through total consecration to Mary, the Mother of the Lord, who is the most perfect follower of Jesus, individuals respond with her to the universal call to holiness and are transformed into generous disciples of Christ and instruments in Our Lady’s hands, with a mission to give witness to the Gospel and transform the world with authentic love.

"Those who love the Immaculata will be saved, become holy, and help others ( on the way ) to holiness."
(KW 1359a)

“To win the entire world for the Immaculata and, through her, for the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus.”

- St. Maximilian Kolbe
